As you know, there are a ton of non-dairy milk alternatives available today. There’s soy milk and almond milk and oat milk and peanut milk. Plus, the slightly newer cashew milk and macadamia milk. However, there’s a new player in the alternative plant-based milk game and her name is black sesame milk!

Black sesame milk is an exotic alternative with a bit of a nutty quality to its deliciousness. People are beginning to gravitate to it because not only is it uniquely tasty, it's quite healthy. Black sesame milk is rich in iron, calcium and magnesium. Furthermore, it typically has more protein than almond milk and oat milk.

In addition to saving money, you can also create a more natural product because you don't have to worry about any sneaky additives. You'll know exactly what you're going to put into your body. Plus, it's fun to create things from scratch!!!
This is why we're going to provide you with a couple of different black sesame milk recipes (one is nut-free for those with peanut allergies). Furthermore, we're going to give you two bonus recipes that contain black sesame milk so you can really get to experimenting and finding out how delectable this eccentric milk can be!
#Recipe 1: Black Sesame Peanut Milk
Ingredients:
- 4 1/4 cups (1000 ml) of fresh water
- 3/4 cup (150 g) red skin peanuts
- 1/2 cup (100 g) black sesame seeds
- 1/3 cup (80 g) sugar
Instructions:
- Roast black sesame seeds for a deeper nutty-er flavor. (Though you can choose not to).
- You have two options for your peanut preparation. You can soak a minimum of 4-6 hours or as long as overnight. Or you can roast the peanuts, which is a particularly great option if you’ve roasted your sesame seeds also.
- No matter which way you've prepped your peanuts, they need to be peeled before moving on with the recipe.
- Next, add your sesame seeds, peanuts and water to a blender. Blend until smooth.
- When you've got it as smooth as you can with the blender, you'll run it through cheesecloth or a filter bag to remove residue and any chunks that may be left. Do this several times for ultimate smoothness.
- Next, you'll transfer your peanut sesame water to a saucepot on the stove over medium heat. Note, stir evenly while heating.
- Once boiling, turn it to low heat in 1-2 minutes.
- Turn off the heat.
- Stir in sugar until dissolved.
Variations
You can add maple to make sweetened black sesame milk. Conversely, you can add stevia instead of using white sugar.
